Lemond

When I worked in a bike shop in Illinois in the 1970’s Greg LeMond was a young up-and-coming star. During our first ten years in business Greg went on to become the world’s best professional road racing cyclist, establishing the United States as a force to be contended with in the sport internationally. Towards the end of his racing career he wrote Greg LeMond's complete book of bicycling which turned out to be influential because of his ideas on bike design and fitting. At about the same time Greg and his father started a new bike company to design and sell road racing bikes that offered a balance of quickness and comfort that Greg had sought in the bikes that were custom built for him as a pro rider. Over the next few years many other top brands adjusted their own designs to conform more closely to the "LeMond geometry."

In 1992 Greg entered into an agreement with Trek for them to engineer, produce, and sell his brand of bicycles and they continue to offer these outstanding bikes. – Neil Wechsler
