Serotta

I was thrilled back in 2005 when Serotta asked us to take over their retail sales in the Seattle area. I knew of their reputation as the ultimate in hand made American racing bicycles. I had met Ben Serotta years earlier and admired his attitude and ideas as much as his bikes. So I jumped at the opportunity, investing fully in the fitting equipment, training, and the bike inventory itself.

Over the years we have had the pleasure of selling frames from other excellent custom builders including Eisentraut, Mercian, and Jeff Lyon. One of the thing that really sets custom Serotta's apart from these and others is the length they have gone to develop a system for gathering and communicating the information needed to design a bike that not only fits the cyclist beautifully and but also handles and feels the way that the rider wants it to.

Serotta is committed to making the best quality bicycles possible with regards to materials, engineering and workmanship. They have in-house capabilities that few other bicycle companies have, large or small. They make their own carbon tubes and lugs so that they won't have to settle for generic frame components that can limit the custom fit and ride that they are known for. Likewise, they form the shapes of their titanium tubing to their own specifications right in their Saratoga Springs frame shop. - Neil Wechsler
