renting a bike
We rent bicycles and bicycle accessories (travel cases, car racks, trailers, helmets & locks). We welcome both reservations and walk-ins, please contact us for availability and selection.
We have put together some of our favourite bike routes in and around Seattle to share with you.
Before renting the bike we will ask you to read and sign our liability release form. You will then be required to leave a credit card deposit (known as an “authorization”) for the value of the bicycle. This credit card authorization can range from $400 up to $5,000, depending on the value of the rental equipment. This amount will be held on your credit card, and may show up on your statement as a “Pending Sale”. The credit line is not immediately restored upon return of the rental equipment. We cannot expedite this process, depending on your bank, it may take up to 2 weeks for that authorization to disappear. Please plan accordingly.
A credit card must be used for the credit card authorization, NOT A DEBIT CARD.
Bikes in each category vary day to day, and cannot be guaranteed without a pre-paid reservation. An additional $25 should be added to guarantee a reservation.

Customer must provide a security deposit by credit card (not debit card) for the current value of the rental bike. This is a credit card authorization does not run as a transaction.
Helmets and locks are each available at $2.00 per day.
We encourage customers from out of town to bring any personal equipment from their bikes at home that might make riding more enjoyable, such as pedals, seats, or helmets.
Reserving a bike in advance will guarantee that the type of bike you'd prefer will be available.
Guaranteed reservations require full payment in advance. This payment is non-refundable.
RESERVING A RENTAL BIKE
Most of our rentals are done on a walk-in basis: first come, first serve. Our lowest rates are for walk-in rentals, but we also offer guaranteed reservations for an additional $25. Reservations cannot be canceled so please do not reserve a bike unless your plans are very firm. Rental payments and reservation fees are non-refundable & cannot be applied towards merchandise.
We may discuss specific bikes with you via e-mail or on the phone but as reservations may be made in advance, we cannot assure you exactly which bike you will get. By the time your rental comes around the initial bike we designated for you may no longer be available due to the amount or type of usage it has been put through in the interim. We can guarantee that we will provide you with a bike that we judge to be of similar size and the same or better quality than the bike that was listed on the reservation.
- Dates of the rental.
- Type of riding you will do.
- Quality level of bicycle that you would like.
- What type of shoes you will ride in.
- Height of the rider (if you know the size & model of a bike that fits you, please tell us.)
This image illustrates which dimensions are useful to have on hand to make the rental bike fit similarly to your current bike.
The seat height (A) is the distance from the center of the crank to the top of the saddle. The reach (B) is the distance from the center of the saddle to the center of the stem clamp/handlebar.
BUY A RENTAL
Many of our rental bikes are for sale*. Each time a bike is rented out we lower the price it is offered for. After several rentals these bikes may become the best used bike deals in town. This allows us to add new bikes to the rental fleet regularly and keep our choices up to date.
Did you love the bike you rented? Are you interested in buying it?
This might be the best part: You may apply the first day of your rental cost towards the purchase, based on the depreciated value of the bike when you rented it.
Rentals that are currently for sale can be found here.
*:If a bike is already reserved for a future customer we may not be able to sell it until it is returned from that rental.
