What you can expect

At Montlake Bike Shop, we want to make your bike servicing experience as convenient and hassle-free as possible. Here's what you can expect when you bring your bicycle to us for service:

No Appointment Necessary:

  • Drop your bike off 7 days a week. We operate on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • Simply bring your bike to our shop during our business hours. No need to schedule an appointment in advance.
  • Quick Check-in Process:

    • Our friendly staff will take down your basic contact information and make brief notes about the type of service you require.
    • This initial information will help us understand your needs and prepare for the service ahead.

  • Personalized Service Discussion:

    • Within 24-48 hours of drop-off, one of our experienced mechanics will contact you Monday to Friday during normal shop hours.
    • The mechanic will discuss your service needs, provide a detailed explanation of the required repairs, estimated costs, and propose a suitable schedule.
    • We believe in clear communication to ensure you are fully informed about your bike's service and any associated charges.

  • Timely Turnaround:

    • Our goal is to complete most repairs within 3-5 business days, Monday to Friday.
    • Please note that turnaround times may vary depending on the complexity of the repair or the current workload.
    • For specific details and estimated completion times, we recommend giving us a call.

  • Appointments for Faster Service:

    • If you want to minimize the time your bike spends at the shop, we offer appointment-based services.
    • However, to determine the time needed for your repair, we must inspect the bike first.
    • Once we have assessed the repair requirements, you can schedule an appointment for dropping off and picking up your bike.

  • Prevent Loss or Damage:

    • For your bike's safety, we kindly request that you remove any accessories that could be lost or damaged during the service.
    • Please detach items such as bottles, bags, locks, lights, and other detachable accessories before dropping off your bike.

  • We allow 3 days to pickup finished bikes. Bikes left beyond 3 days are subject to an $8 per day storage fee.

  • We only service e-bikes with Bosch or Specialized motors.

  • All repair labor quotes are based on the time needed to complete the service. Our shop labor rate is $120 per hour

  • We look forward to providing excellent service and taking care of your bicycle.
